Today we worked on the little things like framing in the garage doors on the east side, beefing up the corners and shimming up the wall cap above the garage door beam. These are the things that take time b/c we need to look for boards that cannot be used in other places (board conservation) and pulling nails. That is what slows us down. We also anchored in the east wall to the concrete. We didn't put the anchor bolts in when we poured the floor b/c we didn't know where the garage doors would be. Had that all finished up by lunch. After that, I finished trimming the hedges and Cory sandblasted a pedal car. The last photo shows why Cory was fired today! In a lapse of concentration, Cory left his 20 oz framing hammer on top of a 8 foot ladder. When I was putting the tools away, the hammer was greatly influenced by gravity and found it's way towards my head (in true Dziowgo fashion). The hammer made contact with my head but no stitches this time. Cory will be leaving for Rapid City tomorrow! Hope his bags are packed!
