30x40??? Is that all the bigger?

On Tuesday, June 13 2006 we began construction on the new building. We decided to place the building in the southeast corner of our back lot. Originally, the building was to be 30x36 but that didn't last long. After much debate (Cory wanted 30x48) we compromised with 30x40. We figured that was enough for some teachers and a chemist to handle. We began to dig the footers on Tuesday night. Lots of footers to be dug! Three shovels made the job a little easier. I also offered some motivation in the form of a Remington. That kept the boys working! We had the footers dug by Wednesday afternoon and began forming that night. We were rushing to get them finished so we could pour on Thursday afternoon and Friday morning. Good thing we did because we received over 2 inches of rain on Friday and Saturday! Overall the job was a lot to tackle but we handled it like pros. We poured two section on Thursday and one on Friday morning. All in all it is pretty good for a bunch of flunkies! I couldn't ask for anything better. Now we just have to get started building. No more bending over for awhile! That is a blessing for our backs.
